The following are photos taken on the Carissa Plains about 50 miles east of San Luis Obispo. It was the beginning of the spring wildflower bloom during the middle of March 2003.

Definitely the plains.
Fields of blue crocus.
Trees haven't filled out yet.

You can see the poppies coming through.

These are a type of crocus.

I use an Olympus C700 Digital Camera with a 10X optical zoom (2.1 megapixels).
